Seasonal transitions are always my favorite (I hope you sense the sarcasm through the computer). My real struggle is both the colors/clothing items and weather. I know, I always complain about the weather. I’m literally always cold. Check out this outfit for the chillier last days of Spring.
I don’t actually dance ballet. As a 4 year old girl I only lasted 4 classes before I decided to quit because I did not want to do what the teacher was telling me to do. But tutus always make me feel like a ballerina; honestly all flowy skirts make me feel like a dancer or pretty princess. The tutu is my favorite part of this outfit. I have been wanting a midi tulle skirt since I came across some etsy stores selling them. I did not get it on an etsy store, but in a thrift shop in Harlem.
I usually still wear dark colors during the spring and summer. I am trying to find a balance of light and dark in my everyday looks. Here I balance the cream, pastel pink and mint green with my lipstick. On my lips I’m wearing Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lip in ‘Lolita,’ which is a dark pinkish red nude ($20).
White and cream are such great summer colors because they won’t absorb heat as much as black does. Pastel pink and mint are very spring colors so for those transitional days these are the best. I took out my camel coat on this day because it was really chilly anywhere the sun didn’t hit but scorching when the sun did hit. I was also gallery hopping with my friend Julia before she went back to Los Angles and galleries tend to be air conditioned.
My particular camel coat is not too heavy and works for both the warmer, yet chilly days of spring and the chilly, yet warm days of fall. Another solution for chill spring weather are bomber jackets, like the one I wore for a past look; a light colored leather moto jacket; or a light utility jacket.
